Protection From Intruders

The world has changed since Force 3 Security started designing, installing and maintaining intruder alarm systems for businesses and homes over 20 years ago.

Would-be intruders have got smarter and more persistent. They know that the days when a ringing alarm bell guaranteed a police presence are gone.

Technology - in the shape of CCTV, electronic access control and wire-free digital alarm systems - is now helping to respond to the threat.

The technology is of little use, however, unless it is installed, supported and maintained by experienced professionals from a company that has been certified by the national watchdog body, the NSI. Don't take our word for it. Ask the police or your insurers.

Why Force 3?

. Because you want trustworthy advice about the level of risk that you're facing - that means a risk assessment survey carried out and explained to you by experienced professionals
. You want the right system for you - whether it's "bells only", "police linked" or "Grade 3"
. You want to work with a company who are NSI Gold installers
. You expect old-fashioned service - where the customer comes first and gets value for money, before and after installation

Read on for a summary of three main categories of intruder alarm systems:

"Bells only"

If the potential risk you run from intruders is low (as is the case with most homes and small businesses), a "bells only" system (grade 2X in the industry parlance) will probably suffice.

This type of system consists of a carefully selected range of detection devices (door contacts, movement sensors, vibration detectors, breaking glass sensors) that can be wired directly to a control panel or linked using secure radio transmitters.

The system is operated from a programmable keypad using either a code number or key fob.

An external sounder complete with a high intensity strobe warns neighbours that your alarm has been activated. We can fit a device too that automatically calls up to three telephone numbers to let friends or relations know that your alarm has been triggered.

"Police linked"

If the assessment survey or your insurers have identified your property or premises as being at medium risk, you will almost certainly need a "police linked" system (grade 2 in the industry parlance).

With this kind of system, the police can be called on to attend if required. That being the case, the system has to conform to certain industry standards governing its design, installation, operation and maintenance, so the potential for false alarms is minimised.

With this kind of system, the police require that a key holder be able to arrive on site within 20 minutes of the alarm's activation. Should you require it, Force 3 can act as your key holder, responding to any alarm on your behalf.

Grade 3

If our survey or your insurers have identified your property, premises or assets as being at "medium to high risk", we will recommend that a Grade 3 system be installed.

Systems classified as Grade 3 are likely to be needed when the value of the contents of a building is high, and criminals are likely to have spent some time planning an intrusion.

With grade 3 systems, you get even more sophisticated, reliable and prompt detection, including "Anti-Masking" - a means of detecting whether a movement detector has been deliberately or accidentally obscured.

The design, installation, operation and maintenance of your system have to conform to even more rigorous industry standards than a "Grade 2".
